OFFSHORE CRANE OPERATOR STAGE 2 TRAINING

Course Description: The Offshore Crane Operator Stage 2 Training is designed to develop the knowledge, practical skills, and operational competence required for offshore crane operators to safely conduct lifting operations in an offshore environment. 

The course emphasizes safe crane operation, hazard identification, effective communication, lift planning, equipment inspection, and emergency response while preparing participants to perform offshore lifting activities in accordance with industry best practices and company procedures.

Course Duration: 3 Days

Course Objectives: By the end of the offshore crane stage 2 training, participants should be able to:

• Explain the applicable legislation, standards, and company procedures governing offshore crane operations.
• Identify different offshore crane types, their components, controls, operational limits, and safety systems.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the offshore crane operator’s roles, responsibilities, and communication requirements.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and basic first-line maintenance of offshore cranes.
• Identify hazards associated with offshore lifting operations and implement appropriate control measures.
• Interpret lifting plans and perform safe lifting operations using approved lifting techniques.
• Operate an offshore crane safely during routine, complex, and emergency lifting situations.
